Also there are two modes which is nowhere mentioned in the product description, thus -2 stars.

I can switch the glowing mode from jumping to instant. The glowing effect of the pumpkin even attracted some kids from knocking my door in the trick-or-treat time. It was amazing last night and we decide to try putting this flame bulb in some other places in the house after the Halloween holiday.

Kids wanna enjoy a play and read time by the fireplace in winter. Need to buy several more bulbs that setup

Two reasons for the lack of a final star: 1) the color is ever so slightly off, to the orange end of the spectrum rather than the brighter yellow of flame, and 2) the decision to offer two modes controlled by turning off and back on again makes it impractical for use on an automatic timer.

On the #1 reason, colour, having a few led’s in the mix that is blue, say, around the base, would bring the tone more in line, and likely make for an even more realistic flame.

I’m using the light in a frosted sconce, and the effect is very good.
